Or click on the magnifying glass from the toolbar inworld (if using Firestorm, or search from the top menu if using any other viewer)
.
The pop-up search screen will have a few tabs along the top. Make sure the first tab "Websearch" is selected
and allow a few seconds to load.
Please note depending on your pc's performance and the speed of your internet connection this can take
anything from 1 second - 50 seconds to load.
And that's basically it, you can now filter your search by entering a word specific search or chose from the list of categories on the left.
Congrats!
So you are new to OpenSim and virtual worlds? and you need a few pointers to help get you set up and on your feet as quickly as you can.
Well look no further. Our Wiki pages are here to help you do just that.
First and foremost you need to create an “Avatar” a virtual representation or mini you to be able to access the grid.
Follow this link to create your starter avatar Click Here
You will then be presented with a page that looks like this
Filling in the account creation form
Select either the default male or female starter avatar or one of the Mesh male or female avatars by clicking on one of the images at the top of the form
Email address, please make sure that you enter a valid email address as you will receive a confirmation email from us before your account is activated. you need to click on the link in that email to activate your new account once you have submitted this form.
Username for web interface. Enter a name that will only be seen by you when you log into our web interface. Please note this is NOT your avatar name.
Desired Avatar First Name. This will be the first name of your new avatar, please do not enter your real life name. The avatar name is how you will be seen and known by others inworld. Names must be 3 characters or more.
Desired Avatar Last Name. The same as above this will be your surname for your avatar. Again do not use your real surname, but the name that you would like your avatar to be known by inworld. Surnames cannot be truncated or less than 3 characters in length.
Password. Enter the password you would like to use to login to either the web interface and/or the grid. Passwords must be more than 8 characters and should contain both letters and numbers to ensure your security. We recommend using a password of 10 characters or more.
Password Confirmation. Re enter the password you have just created for your account
Click the Sign Up button at the bottom to complete the process. Then go to your email client and look for the confirmation email that we will send you to activate your account.
Now you need to install a viewer to be able to enter Dynamic Worldz virtual world. Please continue to the section Viewer Setup for details.
One of the most common problems with logging in, inventory missing or not showing, currency not showing and avatar not showing “usually” is caused by a corrupt cache. The only way to clear these cache issues is to do a MANUAL cache clear. The cache clear option in the viewer does not do a complete job as many of these files are in use by the viewer (locked by the viewer), hence can’t be cleared.
Follow these simple steps to manually clear your cache.
Close your viewer session if you are logged into Dynamic Worldz or any other grid. (you must not have a viewer running).
Using Windows10, Open windows “File Explorer” some call it File Manager
Click on “View” from the menu bar at the top and check the box next to “Hidden Items”
Then navigate to c:\Users\(your windows account name)\AppData\Local
And delete the folders “Firestorm” (or Singularity or what ever the name matches the name of the viewer that you use).
If this is the first time you have done this or if you have not deleted this file in awhile it will very large, so give it time to delete. (also a good practice to do to keep your pc running smoothly and free of clutter).
Then you can log back in to the grid. Please allow an extended load time as all objects will have to load fresh to your local machine.
If you are hosting an event and you would like it to show up in our web search and the inworld search engine. This is how to do it…
First you need to click on the search icon in your viewer.
Represented in your viewer by an icon of a magnifying glass.
(this wiki will detail and display the options using Firestorm).
Once you have clicked on the search icon (or search from your viewer menu). A pop-up window will open that looks like the one displayed below.
Make sure the WEBSEARCH tab is selected and allow a few seconds for the WEBSEARCH tab to load
(this can be slower on older machines or with slow internet connections so please give it time to load).
To create an event you will need to login to the console. Click "Login" which is displayed on the top right hand corner of the pop-up window.
Which will now show you the login console for the web feature.
Enter all three fields...
FirstName (this is your avatar's first name inworld)
LastName (this is your avatar's surname inworld)
Password (enter the password that you use to log into the grid)
And click "Sign In"
You can click the Remember me radio button if you want the system to remember your login details for future use.
You will now be logged into the web console and should see something like this...
Now to setup your event...
At the top right of the web console you will see your username and to the right of your username you will see a little extended menu arrow.
Click on this to open the menu and select the last menu option
"Events Manager"
The Event Management - New Event Entry screen will now come up.
That will look something like this...
Fill in every field except the last one (Cover Charge, by default cover charge is set to Z$0)
NAME: Give your event a catchy name that will draw the eye of the people/person searching.
DESCRIPTION: A good description of your event always gets a better response and draws a bigger crowed than a bland description.
People looking for events want to have fun. Remember to add a HOP address that users can copy and paste to get to your event location.
(this will be changed at a later date).
REGION AND POSITION: Currently not directing users but helpful for users looking for your event.
CATEGORY: Select the Category that best matches your event, this helps users narrow down search preferences.
Categories are: Discussion, Sport, Live Music, Commercial, Nightlife/Entertainment, Games/Contests,
Pageants, Education, Arts and Culture, Charity/Support Groups or Miscellaneous.
MATURITY: Please use the Maturity rating as some users are offended by nudity and adult behaviour.
DURATION: The Duration should be entered before adding the Date and Time (I will change the form layout soon so that
Duration shows before Date and Time, but for now please remember to enter this first).
DATE AND TIME: now this is tricky so please enter carefully.
Click in the Date and Time field
This will open up a calendar. Select the date of your up coming
event. This will then proceed to the next entry (start time)
Select the start time. This will then proceed to the next entry (end
time) Please note this currently does not present the right
options so select the start time again.
Now click on the green "Save New Event" button.
Congratulations your event has now been published and is searchable by other users.
By returning to the Events Management Console you can edit or delete your event listing.

On this page we will try and define the terms used unequally by virtual gamers and often used in our wiki pages.
A
Avatar
a character or creature that you create to represent yourself in a computer game, on the internet, etc.:
The game creates a virtual world where people interact and participate in activities through their avatars.
B
C
D
E
F
G
Grid
A unique and self managed platform.
Apart from other platforms but in some cases connected via Hyper Grid portals enabling travel between these unique platforms/grids.
An example of these would be Dynamic Worldz, Kitely, osGrid, GCG, etc these are all known as GRIDS
H
HG or HyperGrid
The term HG is an abbreviation for Hyper Grid
The HyperGrid (HG) is a network of independently hosted and managed OpenSim virtual worlds that allow free travel between platforms by means of a web link or inworld teleportation device. Which transports your Avatar between worlds.

O
Object/Primitive
When using the create object tool inworld and creating new box (or shape) will by default be named Primitive in pre V.0.9 or named Object in post V.0.9 versions of the operating system. Until the object is named.
OpenSim
OpenSim is the name given to the operating system that the virtual world is created on. It is the server based software for hosting Virtual Worlds.
Dynamic Worldz currently supports both V.0.8.2.1 on the grid https://dynamicworldz.com and the latest release of V.0.9.1.1 on the grid https://dynamicworldz2.com
P
Prim
A Prim is the abbreviated version of the word Primitive and refers to 1 part of a build or object. Land, for example, will support a defined number of Prims. The default prim allowance for a starter region in Dynamic Worldz is 16000 prims. A completed item like a house can be several prims as each part (i.e. windows, doors, walls, floors etc) are all made up of single prims joint together. This means that it will usually take up between 20 – 1500 prims for a single build. When using mesh builds this does reduce your land impact significantly.
Primitive/Object
When using the create object tool inworld and creating new box (or shape) will by default be named Primitive in pre V.0.9 or named Object in post V.0.9 versions of the operating system. Until the object is named.
